3 things I don't want my kids bringing home from school

Pink eye. Stomach flu. Lice. Have they invaded your home yet?

You would know, right? You open the backpack and THERE. IT. IS. That note from the teacher that says someone in your child's class has something contagious. We've gotten it. TWICE. For pink eye and the stomach flu. So far, no pesky parasites have made their way into our daughter's classroom... or into our home. I intend to keep it that way.

How? My experienced mom friend says "Gel it up!"

That's exactly what I did. When I found out letters were circulating in other grades about the wingless, sucking insects, I immediately took precautions. My daughter went to school with dirty hair, gelled up in a ponytail. Since then, other mom friends have shared their secrets to keeping lice away including texting me the picture below so I know what to look for at the store.

They've suggested these products. But not just for the times when lice is present. ALL THE TIME. They put it in the hair of their daughters AND sons.

Have you used these conditioners? What do you think? Do you have a tried and true method for preventing a head lice infestation? Please share them so we can learn from each other. Thanks!
