Family Fun at Festival of the Arts Boca

How cool would it be to watch Raiders of the Lost Ark while a live orchestra plays the soundtrack? How about watching a 12-year-old jazz piano prodigy in concert? Or what about a Cirque de la Symphonie performance the whole family will enjoy? You can find it all at the 10th Annual Festival of the Arts BOCA. Newsy Parents is proud to partner with the Festival to help promote all of these great events. The fun starts this Friday, March 4 and runs through Wednesday, March 16 at the Mizner Park Amphitheater and Mizner Park Cultural Arts Center.

"The 10th Annual Festival of the Arts BOCA will be our most celebrated and memorable yet," said Charlie Siemon, Chair and Co-Executive Producer of the Festival in the press release. "We are thrilled and humbled to welcome a full line-up of international superstars, thinkers, authors and performers."

Headlining the Festival will be violin superstar and conductor, Joshua Bell, who will be the soloist and conductor in a performance of Vivaldi's Four Seasons with the Lynn Philharmonia.

This season's Festival opens with the Florida premiere of Raiders of the Lost Ark presented with a live orchestra. Digitally remastered, the film that gave the world one of its greatest movie heroes, Indiana Jones, is back and better than ever before. John Williams' epic score will be performed live to picture by the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra from the University of Miami's Frost School of Music and conducted by Constantine Kitsopoulos. Prior to the movie, there will be a Raiders Treasure Hunt with a chance to win prizes. Meet at the entrance to the Amphitheater at 6 p.m. Kids are invited to participate.

Other highlights include 12-year-old jazz piano phenom Joey Alexander and Cirque de la Symphonie featuring cirque acts with a live orchestra. While musicians play, you'll marvel at the jaw-dropping spectacle of aerialists flying overhead and astonishing acrobatic feats. Prior to the Cirque performance, enjoy some family fun under the Big Top sponsored by our friends at Spotlight Families Magazine.  They'll have several face painters on hand to paint cirque style designs on your little one's face while balloon artists entertain with their creations. There will be a DJ, cotton candy, popcorn machines and more. Best part of the night...MEET the cast members before the big Cirque show! This family fun event is FREE to those who purchase tickets for the Cirque event.

Tickets start at $15 per person and are available at or by calling 866-571-ARTS. Looking forward to seeing you there!
