Take the stress out of what-to-wear for the holidays with festive fashion tips

UPDATE: This event is being postponed due to unforeseeable delays. The new grand opening date is Thursday, May 1 from 7-10 p.m.

There never seems to be enough time during the holidays. Between the cooking, cleaning, decorating, and shopping.... Oh, then there are the parties - my company's holiday party, my daughter's school gala, a night out on the town with the girls and of course, Christmas with the family. I'll need an outfit for each and I don't want to repeat one from last year (even though it was pretty fabulous - see below) because pictures are proof it's been recycled just the year prior.

Are you in my same situation? I have the answer that'll take the stress out of what-to-wear and it involves a new women's boutique, Etiquette Boutique, at one of my company's shopping centers, Union Planters Plaza, at 2368 N. Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale.

Etiquette Boutique is locally-owned by mother and son team, Nola and David Harris who have owned a string of successful boutiques in Nashville, Tennessee and Louisville, Kentucky. After researching all of South Florida for about five months, they decided Fort Lauderdale was the clear choice for their flagship of Etiquette stores opening the first boutique in early 2012. The styles inside Etiquette Boutique are hand-selected and offer a mix of both investment and trendy pieces. Filling a void in the Fort Lauderdale shopping scene, Etiquette offers savvy shoppers an alternative to malls and online shopping with affordable pieces to round out their wardrobe. With about 70 new styles arriving weekly, the selection is perpetually changing – giving fashion enthusiasts all the more reason to check back often. Etiquette only pulls about six of each style to ensure the dreaded "OMG-she's-wearing-the-same-dress" moment is avoided whenever possible.

The stylish selection and phenomenal customer service is why I enjoy shopping at boutiques plus I'd rather support the local mom and pop over the big box chains. I've made many purchases at Etiquette and previously wrote about two of them. Read about the lacy, spring dress here and the Aztec-inspired print dress here.

You probably want to hear more about how Etiquette will help prep you for all your parties this holiday season. I am organizing an event called Fabulous & Festive on Wednesday, December 4 from 7 to 9 p.m at the Union Planters Plaza location. The boutique and I have invited six fabulous fashionista bloggers - Afroza from Chic Stylista, Alaina from Sky Style Couture Life, Anj from Styled With Poise, April from April Golightly, Becca from Petite Fashionista, and Kristin from Living in Color Print - to style customers on opening day. If you decide to purchase your outfit, the owners are donating a portion of the sales that night to The Salvation Army's Angel Tree, providing gifts to children in need this holiday season. It's a win-win all around.

Connect with Etiquette Boutique and Union Planters Plaza below. My company is redeveloping the shopping center to include an outdoor gathering space complete with greenery, water feature and dining tables. It will be located right in front of Etiquette so if you attend Wednesday night, you'll know the reason behind the construction. We're also planning a great holiday event on December 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Called A Toast to Your Health, it will include a hot yoga class by Barkan Method followed by cooking demonstrations from d.b.a./cafe, Sage French Cafe and Whole Foods Market. It's free to the public and everyone is invited to attend so spread the word!
