What NewsyMom Wears: Rainy Day Gear

It's rainy season in South Florida. For those of you who don't live here, it means it rains. Well, not just rains, but torrential downpours EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. 3 o'clock. Almost on the dot. EVERY. DAY. No exaggeration.

So for me, I always keep my rain gear in the car, along with the girls... which we'll feature in another What We Wear blog post. My rainy day gear list is below:

Monogrammed rain coat: CHECK.

Monogrammed umbrella: CHECK.

Fashionable knee-high, lace-up rain boots: CHECK.

It really is amazing how many compliments I get when I wear these, even from a Publix employee. True story. Read about it here.

For this particular post, I paired the champaign-colored boots with a casual light brown dress that features a polka dot chiffon lower half. I like the way it looks with the boots lacing up the back. To give it a pop of color, I wore bright accessories. The earrings have shades of green (to play off the monogram color of the umbrella which looks turquoise but is more of a blueish-green), yellow and purple. The bangles are beautiful purple stones and druzy stones from Bourbon and Boweties which I purchased here. My latest obsession to say the least.

FASHION TIP: You could wear these neutral boots with practically anything... shorts, minis, rompers, skinnies. When you don them on your feet, I'd definitely add color either in your clothing or your accessories. If you prefer a monochromatic palette, you could do that too with light browns, tans, or even ivory and black. What would you wear with the boots?
